  • Black Butte Mine Reclamation Monitoring Study, Wyoming.  Troubleshoot and update vegetation monitoring database in Microsoft Access.  (2009)
  • Abandoned Mine Reclamation Program Database.  Managed and coordinated database design and updates for the Division of Oil Gas and Mining, Abandoned Mine Land Program (in Microsoft Access).  Updated closure codes, tracked contract information, developed and produced reports for policy planning and future project design.  (2007 to 2008)

  • Mokelumne River Aquifer and Recharge Storage Project, East Bay Municipal Utilities District, California.  Developed integrative plan to supply water to the East Bay in California.  Investigated water availability from different river systems and underground storage possibilities.  Developed model to assess limnological and water quality changes in East Bay reservoirs.  (1995)

  • Implementation of Hydrometeorological Monitoring Program in Central Asia, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.  As Foreign Service Environment Officer, served as team leader for Hydrometeorological Institute directors on a study tour in MD, MN, and CO on remote sensing and water forecasting and modeling techniques).  Participated in field mission to Uzbekistan to attend Hydromet workshop and assist in the siting of a satellite receiver for meteorological data to be disseminated with other Central Asian partners.  (2000)

  • China Biodiversity Network, Pacific Environment/Earth Island Institute, San Francisco, California.  As Founder/Project Director, provided training and financial support for new Chinese environmental groups and advocates.  Raised public awareness and promoted local involvement on environmental projects in China; promoted NGO involvement for the UNDP Tumen River Area Development Program in China, Russia, South Korea, North Korea, and Mongolia.  Developed database of local environmental experts in the Tumen River region.  Developed a renewable energy project for the Mosuo matrilineal village in northern Yunnan province.  Developed and led wetland management training tours for Chinese and Russian reserve managers in Northern California and China.  (1995 to 1999)
  • China Wetlands Conservation and Sustainable Use Project, Wetlands International China Programme.  In country project coordinator for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China Wetlands Conservation and Sustainable Use Project resulting in approval of more than $6 million from the GEF. Coordinated international team and inputs for six pilot wetland demonstration areas (Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Hunan, Gansu, Jilin).  (1997)
  • International Wetlands Conference, Ulan Bator, Mongolia.   As Project Coordinator, helped organize a Wetlands International conference for all offices and collaborators within the Pacific-East Asia Australasia Flyway.  Project funded in coordination with WI project offices in China, Japan and Russia.  (1997)
  • International Waters Project, Tumen River Basin, United Nations Development Programme, China.  Successfully developed and secured a $20,000 contract from the UNDP/Tumen Secretariat to develop an interactive database of environmental experts in the Tumen River Area Development Program Countries of China Russia, North Korea, South Korea, and Mongolia.  Created NGO coalition to undertake field work and interviews.  Conducted field visits and interviews in China, Russia and Mongolia.  Designed and populated tri-lingual database in Filemaker Pro.  (1998)
  • International Waters Project, Dniepr River Basin, United Nations Development Programme, Ukraine.  Drafted Project Brief for GEF International Waters Project and Strategic Action Plan for the Dnieper River Basin resulting in approval of $7 million for host countries. Presented GEF objectives and cost-sharing principles to governments of Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus at SAP Steering Committee Workshop in Odessa (Ukraine).  (1997) 
  • Mai Po Marches Nature Reserve Management and Education Programs Evaluation, Natural Resources Consulting Party, Ltd., Hong Kong.  Evaluated management and educational programs at Mai Po Marshes Nature Reserve in Hong Kong.  Wrote summary report.  (1996)
  • Characterizing High Alpine Wetland Wintering Areas for Black Necked Cranes in Yunnan Province, China.  Developed projects to protect the wetland wintering habitat of rare Black-necked Cranes in northern Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces.  Conducted field investigations, characterized habitat values, identified conservation threats, led international team visits, built support from local government officials and villagers, coordinated environmental education and exchange projects for Chinese middle school students.  (1994 to 1995)
  • Kali Gandaki – Khimti Kola Hydropower Project, Asian Development Bank, Nepal.  Developed Environmental Mitigation and Community Development Plans in conjunction with a large dam and hydropower project in Nepal.  (1995)
  • Taiwan 20-Year Environmental Masterplan, TUV–Essen, Far East, Ltd., Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.  Project Coordinator and Liaison for the Taiwan Environmental Protection Bureau project resulting in a 20-year Environmental Masterplan.  Provided technical support and translation for air, water, solid waste and noise pollution projections in Taiwan; coordinated inputs between German and Taiwanese consulting firms (1989 to 1990).
